About Us & Mission Statement:

The OFSSFM is a group of OFS Demonolatry Forum Members who are Daemonolators and Pantheistic Satanists (solitary practitioners and groups). Each member believes in freedom of religion, community service, and works to help educate others about Demonolatry, Theistic Satanism, and "darker" pan/polytheist based religions. One of our many goals is to work collaboratively to put together fundraisers and fund drives for various charitable causes. As a group we realized that we have ethics based on concern for ecology, personal responsibility, and individual freedom. This means that we should involve ourselves in actions of social responsibility as often as we are able regardless our religious beliefs. We feel it is important for Demonolators and those of darker theistic religions to highlight our similarity to other religions in that regard.

If we expect others to respect our individual beliefs and religions, that's easier to do when we show those who have preconceived notions, that we are not hateful, self-absorbed, and without compassion for others. We realize that there is no true cohesive community between our many different religions and religious organizations due to individuality. But charity and support for worthy causes (including political causes like freedom of religion) is something we can all do together no matter how many miles or what theology seperates us. By example, we hope to encourage Daemonolators, Pantheistic Satanists, Theistic Satanists, darker Polytheists and those people with self-defined religious paths to volunteer their time in their own communities and by supporting some of the online fundraising events OFSSFM will be sponsoring. We'd like to start out with one or two fundraisers per year. No donation is too small!

So please visit the links below to donate. Not only will you be helping those who need your help, supporting freedom of religion, and donating to worthy causes, but you will also be helping to positively influence the image of less accepted alternative belief systems in general by destroying the stereotypes. If you or your group would like to help support OFSSFM charitable activities, simply share this page or our event page link with everyone you know through your websites, blogs, groups, e-mail signatures, and forum signatures! To get involved with OFSSFM by participating, e-mail us at ofs.admin@gmail.com.

If you represent a charity and would like us to help you find volunteers, or hold an online fundraiser for you, contact us at ofs.admin@gmail.com.

How We Choose Charities & How Donations Get To Those Charities

All of our chosen charities or causes have been researched and are rated four stars by www.charitynavigator.org based on how effective they really are.We choose charities that deal with everything from freedom of religion, health, education, helping those less fortunate, helping disabled veterans, to helping the environment. There are a lot of wonderful organizations out there who are doing great work to benefit others, to fight for freedom, and to save lives. But doing that work costs money. Since we are not yet an official 501(c)3 non-profit, we are using www.firstgiving.com to help us collect donations for our fundraising events. Firstgiving collects the donations and will provide you with a tax deductable receipt. At the end of the fundraising event, Firstgiving sends the money we raise directly to the charity we have named for the online event.

FAQ:

In whose name is the money donated?

The money is donated through Firstgiving. However, your name (as you wish it to appear) and donation is listed on the event page.

If the money isn't donated directly from OFSSFM - how does this help us?

Most charities do not accept donations from groups or organizations unless the group or organization is a 501(c)3 and an organization specifically set up to raise money for charity. Firstgiving is such an organization. We individuals of the OFSSFM are simply the fundraisers - meaning we're getting the word out and holding the fundraiser to collect donations to be sent to our chosen cause. It's the visibility of our online fundraising activities, the participation, and donations collected that matter more. If people can see (by visiting these pages and seeing that we are raising money) that we DO care and are socially aware, responsible, compassionate, and know that we are doing positive things for our communities and world, they are more likely to question their preconceived notions.

I want to donate but have no interest in supporting the OFSSFM fundraisers.

That's cool. Visit www.charitynavigator.org to find charitable organizations who support the causes you believe in. Charity Navigator gives you information on which charities do the most to help their cause, and can direct you to official websites where you can donate online or learn how to help in your community. What we at OFSSFM find wonderful is that most of the Demonolators, Theistic Satanists, and darker poly/pantheists we meet both online and off already support numerous local charities and make regular charitable contributions to causes they believe in. Our fundraising projects are just an additional way you can donate to causes you care about. We hope that by doing these online fundraisers we can help encourage those of alternative religions to become more active in their communities, the nation, and the world. If we have inspired someone to donate (whether they donate via our online fundraisers or not) then we've accomplished what we set out to accomplish.

I can't afford to donate, what can I do?

For those who cannot afford to make a monetary donation to these fundraisers, you can still do something individually or as a group!
