OFS Demonolatry Site FAQ
Demons & Demon Worship: We define a Demon as a Divine Intelligence Replete with Wisdom. Worship means to hold something in high regard. Therefore, to worship Demons, for us, means to hold in high regard the Divine Intelligence that we seek for its innate Wisdom. Demon worship is not necessarily Satanism even though there are many Satanists who are Demonolaters. Some Demonolaters are Satanists by default simply because they've chosen to adopt Satan into their personal pantheons for whatever reason -- usually because the God-Name and symbolism of Satan resonates with them. What type of Demonolatry does this site cover? This site includes information about Demonolatry from the viewpoint of the OFS and traditional family sects. It includes information about both the Dukante and Goetic hierarchies since practitioners of our particular tradition generally use one of those two hierarchies, though other hierarchies can be used. The Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Canaanite pantheons are very popular, too. Is Demonolatry considered Right Hand Path (RHP) or Left Hand Path (LHP)? Ah, the long debated question as to whether or not a person can be theistic and still take responsibility for him/herself. We have recently decided the RHP and LHP definitions are so screwy that trying to define ourselves as LHP or RHP is moot. We are of the Demonolatry Path. Maybe it meets somewhere in the middle. We don't know and don't really care. However, many consider us LHP because Traditional Demonolators believe we are all parts of the whole and thus no less than Gods ourselves (even though imperfect by our very nature). We're simply bound by the physical body. Self-knowledge, Self-responsibility, and Self-Worship are all parts of Demonolatry as is Demon worship. We do not grovel before the Demons as unworthy beings who depend on their aide to do anything. They do not control us, we control ourselves. We work WITH the Demons and honor them to discover our true potential as imperfect yet divine beings bound by a physical plane of existance. By honoring and worshiping them we are honoring and worshiping ourselves because they are a part of us as we are a part of them. All things are divine. We don't spend our time trying to look into the eyes of our gods. Instead, we work toward looking through the eyes of our Gods. We define worship as reverence and respect. To hold in high regard. Why invocation instead of evocation? What's the difference? Invocation is a respectful prayer whereas evocation is a command. Because we work with demons as divine entities replete with wisdom and we respect them and hold them in high regard as our mentors, teachers, friends and guides - we don't evoke. Evocation suggests commanding and binding the demon against its will. That isn't how you'd treat a mentor, teacher, guide, or a friend. Therefore we prefer the kinder, gentler term - invocation. Yes, it's probably just semantics, but for some of us there is a BIG difference between invocation and evocation. Why is Anubis the header graphic on this site? Because we love Anubis. He's a good Anubis ::pets his head::... now put Anubis in his little box... Trust us - you had to be there. But aren't demons evil and mean? If that's your perception of them, then yes. However, since Demonolators don't view demons negatively, they don't view us negatively. It's all in the individual's perception. What you put out is what you get back. Do you worship demons because you think it's cool? Is it a rebellion thing? Are you people nuts? Let's nip all of these questions in the butt all at once, shall we? Well, since many of the people who belong to the forum are 25+ and at least half of the people who run this site are married and 30+ it has nothing to do with being cool or rebelling. I think we're past that. We're normal people. We have careers, pay our mortgages, and take the kids to little league just like you. We don't dress in black or have dyed hair. While some of us may enjoy heavy metal, we have members who enjoy country music, classical, opera, and even adult contemporary. Most, if not all, of us who run this site have a college degree of some sort. And to my knowledge none of us is on medication for mental illness. Basically what we're saying is if you met any one of us on the street you would not suspect us of being Demonolators. Chances are you've met a demon worshipper. It could have been your teacher, your doctor, or even your next door neighbor. What were you expecting? A bunch of teenaged kids wearing metal concert t-shirts with dyed hair and pierced noses? LOL! Sorry if we disappointed you. I want to become a Demonolatry Priest(ess). Can I do like a lot of Satanic groups do and just declare myself a member of the clergy? Nope. Within real, traditional Demonolatry sects (of the Kemetic/Canaanite variety) an Adept Demonolator (who actually has good people skills) must be chosen for the position and then undergo several years of seminary training before being ordained and allowed to say they are a "Demonolatry" Priest(ess). Ummm, no. If we were practicing the modern pagan path known as Natib Qadish that was created by Tess Dawson, we'd have said that. One of our members and several forum members have studied modern Canaanite recon groups including Natib Qadish, and we do have forum members here who are big into Ba'al deities and ancient Canaanite practices, and so a lot of their practices may resemble Natib Qadish or other modern Canaanite recon paganisms to some degree. We may even recommend that people look into Natib Qadish (or other modern Canaanite recon groups) for study purposes. The huge difference between us and them is the same difference between Demonolaters and ANY modern pagan recon group. We are not above practicing BLOOD MAGICK, SEX MAGICK, EXECRATION MAGICKS, don't have a problem with Sacrificing food animals provided it's done humanely and consumed at a feast following the ritual - and do not follow the Wiccan Rede, and we call our deities (regardless pantheon) Demons/Daimons/Daemons (pick a spelling). We do not discriminate between "Good or Evil" deities nor male and female. We also believe that the three great pillars can be traced back to the Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Canaanites (and other early Western Semitic cultures) -- including Qabbalah. Many Modern Canaanite Reconstructionists will deny this emphatically. Many of us are NOT HARD POLYTHEISTS. Many of us are Pantheists or Panentheists. Many of us work ACROSS pantheons of deities (which works if you're a soft polytheist and pantheistic or panentheistic), we don't believe in PURE magickal traditions and will happily mix them (oh heavens!) -- and then there's the self-deification thing... So as you can see - this is why we don't just call ourselves Canaanite Reconstructionists. We're very different, indeed. Some people have asked if we're Khemetic/Kemetic. Again, not in the sense of Modern Recon pagan groups. Again, some of our members of both the forum and in OFS have studied various branches of modern pagan recon Khemeticism. We may recommend the websites of modern Recon Groups to people seeking to learn more about Khemeticism. The reason many Demonolators are Khemetic/Kemetic in their way of thinking is Hermeticism (the base of our religion) itself (all three great pillars of magick, in fact) leads back to Ancient Egypt. Hermeticism was basically the Greek version of Khemeticism. That's what many of us believe based on our own research and study. That's what many Kemetic groups believe, too. The Ancient Egyptians were the original source for all schools of Western magical and occult thought. So if you see similarities to Khemeticism and Hermeticism in the type of Demonolatry as discussed on this site -- this is why! Again, the difference between us and the modern pagan Recon groups is that we are not against sex magick, blood magick, sacrifice of food animals (provided the meat does not go to waste), or execration magicks. We do not follow the Wiccan Rede. We call our deities Daimons/Daemons/Demons (pick a spelling) - Divine Intelligences Replete with Wisdom. We're also not against worshiping or working with "Dark" or "Evil" Gods/Goddesses or Aspects. If anyone disagrees with how we label ourselves, oh well. So as you can see - this is why we don't just call ourselves Khemetic Reconstructionists. We're very different, indeed. Why can't I contact anyone from this site? You can. Join the forum and PM the admin or moderators. Or, feel free to write us at ofs.admin@gmail.com . We do not guarantee an answer because no one here, between work, family and home, has time to really answer e -mail. Hate mail, spam, etc... will be deleted without being read. Questions about Demonolatry will only be answered at the forum. So basically - only e-mail us if you have an inquiry for DB Publishing, OFS, Black Serpent, or something worth our time. Otherwise, use the forum (politely). Are there classes I can take or sects I can join? Sometimes members of the priesthood (or seminary students) will run free classes or seminars over at the forum. This is our public service to all of you. But since there are no guarantees that you'll get in on a class or one will be running when you sign up, there are plenty of books out there to help you get started. See our bookstore. You can also visit the forum to meet other Demonolators, and to ask any questions you may have. You might even make a few friends in your area. We do have networking boards over there. You may write to us for specific seminar or class material at ofs.admin@gmail.com. We also offer one-on-one pre-initiate classes for those people who think they might like to become initiated Demonolators. These classes are taught by Demonolatry seminary students and ordained members of the priesthood. Our clergy also offer spiritual counseling and we will perform legal marriage ceremonies for Demonolators within the State of Colorado. Additionally, any of our clergy may initiate or perform the baptism of any Demonolator into Demonolatry as well as perform house blessing or spiritual cleansing. Most of these public services are limited to Colorado (Denver metro). More areas may be available in the future (depending on which members of the clergy choose to participate). Write us for more information. Why don't you allow religious debate on your forums? Because that's not why the forum was created. It is there for Demonolators to talk with other Demonolators. We welcome people of other faiths as long as they aren't here to flame us for our beliefs and practices. There are plenty of places on the web where you can go for religious debate. This just isn't one of them. If you really want to debate religion with Theistic Satanists - check out these groups ran by Diane Vera: I'd like to help with this site or moderate in the forum. How do I go about that? We appreciate the offer, but are not in need of help. From past experiences we have decided to keep this site OFS ran and operated without any outside contribution. How do you know demons are nice? Can you prove it? Can you prove they're not? Obviously this is something that cannot be proven to someone who hasn't had the experience. Remember, personal experience and witnesses don't count in debates like this because each individual is shaped by his/her personal experience and that varies from person to person. Unfortunately, a belief in demons and their nature has to come from personal experience just like a belief in any god, aliens, ghosts, or anything of a subjective nature. Witnesses don't count because you'd have to take their word for it too. What I always find amusing about debates like this is that the person who asks questions like this usually believes in something that can't be proven and when you ask them to prove it they usually answer, "Because I saw the ghost so I know they exist." How can you prove what you experienced to someone who wasn't there unless you have some form of hard evidence or a shared experience? You can't. How do you know demons exist? Can you prove it? Can you prove they don't? See answer to the above question. Any other question that has the obligatory "Prove It" tag - see above. I heard some bad stuff about you guys from other Demonolators, is it true? We are not going to defend ourselves against someone else's opinion of us. We do hope you'll get to know us and decide for yourself. Sometimes personalities clash. Remember that. It's impossible to think any one person can get along with every person (s)he meets. I heard one of your members was ousted from the family sects, is this true? Nope. Does it matter anyway? Who you know does not a Demonolater make. I heard the Dukante hiearchy was B.S. and that the enns were made up by one of your members. The rumors of our High Priestess' creative ingenious and proficiency speaking Gaelic is greatly exaggerated. First off - the Enns are NOT in Gaelic. Good try. Second, our HP does wish she could take credit for creating our entire religion (specific to the family sects and/or OFS), but unfortunately no one will let her. She also wishes she could speak Gaelic despite the fact that Gaelic has nothing to do with Demonolatry. ::grin:: The Dukante Hierarchy is admittedly incomplete. No one ever claimed differently. Richard Dukante died before he finished it. Isn't Demonolator spelt Demonolater? My Word spell-checker says it's Demonolater! We've seen it spelt both ways so it's entirely possible both are correct. Kinda like color and colour. Or magick, majik, and magick. Pick a spelling. It's all good. There are spelling errors on this site! Yes, there are likely spelling errors on this site. Shit happens. We do attempt to spell check before uploading anything. However, stuff does get missed. We are only human, after all. Perfection is a goal rather than a state of being. So if you're with the spelling police and we miss a spelling error, we apologize. Our web program doesn't have a spell check and we tend to type text directly into the web program. You are more than welcome to point out any spelling errors and they will eventually be fixed. Just please note that for us, a spelling error isn't the end of the world, nor is it something to get into a huge tissy over. If it bugs you that much, might I suggest you take into consideration your priorities in life? You're also welcome to leave this site and never come back. Won't hurt our feelings. Sure - feel free to give us a heads-up if you see one, but don't be a prick about it. Anyone being a prick will be ignored. Or you'll get this response: "LOL! Wow! The Spelling Police! Thank you, officer. Correction noted." What cracks me up about this is people will use "trolling" e-mail addresses to send their "citations". ::shakes head:: Some people... I'd like to report an error on your site, what should I do? Go to the forum and PM one of the mods or post. I don't agree with some or all of the information on this site. That's cool. Our way is not the only way. We do not expect every Demonolator (or person who runs across our site) to agree with our beliefs, hierarchies, traditions, philosophies, or spiritual practice. It's okay to do your own thing and/or think we're full of it. We grow in our own light and our spiritual happiness or fulfillment doesn't come from whether or not others agree with us, or believe in the same things we do. What we do works for us and that's all that matters. Can I join the OFS? OFS is not actively seeking members. That's not to say we won't consider new members, but unless you live in Colorado or know an OFS member who will sponsor you and unless you can travel to Colorado, it's unlikely. OFS is a physical group, not an internet group. There are a few online theistic Satanism groups out there who might accept Demonolators if you are looking for an internet group. If you're looking for a physical group, go to the Forum and check the networking boards. Who are you guys? We're the Ordo Flammeus Serpens (OFS). OFS is small Demonolatry sect out of Colorado. Between us, we have well over 65 years of Demonolatry and Demonic Magick experience. Other traditions and occult practices our members have studied and practiced include Thelema, Enochian, Qabbalah, Goetic CM, Satanism (both theistic and modern), Santeria, Hermetic Science, and Witchcraft to name a few. Yeah, we're an older crowd (late twenties to early forties) but that doesn't make us boring. ::smile:: Is this site associated with the underground demonolatry community and the traditional family sects? Unlike its ancestor demonolatry.com, OFS Demonolatry is completely ran by the OFS, but the family sects know about it and haven't raised any objections. HOW DO YOU GUYS FEEL ABOUT THE FOLLOWING? I was told by a demon that I'm the antichrist or that I'm becoming/am a demon... Unfortunately we're not likely to believe you. However, if that is your belief then that's cool. Just please don't try to convince us. The demons themselves would have to convince us. I am possessed by a demon... Unfortunately we're not likely to believe you. However, if that is your belief then that's cool. Just please don't try to convince us. The demons themselves would have to convince us. You are all going to hell... Unfortunately we're not likely to believe you. However, if that is your belief then that's cool. Just please don't try to convince us. The demons themselves would have to convince us. Jesus Christ/God can save you if only you'd believe... Unfortunately we're not likely to believe you. However, if that is your belief then that's cool. Just please don't try to convince us. The demons themselves would have to convince us. |
